| This popular 11 CD series (the longest running series in the history of indie rock) has been Deep Elm's way of documenting an extraordinary and powerful style of music that possesses the ability to stir emotion like no other. The Emo Diaries has acted as an introduction to over 135 of the best young bands throughout the world, including Jimmy Eat World, The Appleseed Cast, Further Seems Forever, Movielife, Penfold, Samiam, Slow Coming Day, Sounds Like Violence and many more. All songs are Unreleased making each chapter of The Emo Diaries a true compilation, not a sampler of previously released music. The bands were selected to participate based on open, blind submissions of their music. Only the music mattered. Deep Elm has never attempted to define any musical style, as we believe any combination of songwriting, lyrics and live performance means something different to every listener. We have only intended to share with you the music that moves us and support these incredible bands...it's what we do. We're lucky like that. |
